Planning a campus visit.

Everything you need to know before visiting the Highland Prep West campus.

Visitor Policy

Visiting our campus.

Highland Prep West welcomes visitors who support our students and our school. This policy explains how campus visits work, in keeping with Arizona law (A.R.S. § 15-184), so every visit is safe and smooth for students, staff, and guests.

The rule that comes first

To keep students safe, no one without an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card may be alone with a student, unless that visitor is the student's parent or legal guardian.

When You Arrive

Signing in, step by step.

Every approved visitor follows the same simple steps.

  1. 1

Sign in at the front office.

  2. 2

    Present a photo ID.

  3. 3

Wear a visitor guest pass while on campus.

  4. 4

Stay in the approved rooms and areas for your visit.

  5. 5

    Sign out when you leave.

Who Is Visiting

Guidelines by visitor.

A few extra steps apply depending on who is visiting and why.

Parents of enrolled students

Request a campus visit at least two academic days in advance (administration may waive this). Administration reviews each request so a visit does not interfere with the health, safety, or learning of students and staff. During an observation, please remain respectful and do not assist students or interact with staff or students.

Blackout dates include state and national assessments, beginning- and end-of-course testing, mid-terms, and final exams.

Parents of prospective students

The same parameters apply as for parents of enrolled students. In addition, parents of prospective students are accompanied at all times by school administration during any campus visit.

Guest presenters and instructors

Administration may approve classroom guests who support the learning objectives of a course. Guests stay on topic and avoid controversial material.

Other visitors

Any other visitor shows an appropriate purpose for the visit and gains administration approval. A staff member accompanies these visitors throughout their time on campus.

While You're Here

What we ask of visitors.

  • Dress conservatively, avoid profanity, and act in a professional and collaborative way.
  • Photography, video, and audio recording require written permission from the principal.
  • Disruptive behavior results in removal, and repeated interference may result in a campus ban under A.R.S. § 13-2911.

Visits happen at times that work for both the family and the school, and may be limited by the school. A visit may be denied if it could threaten the safety of students or staff.
